Au sortir d’un tournage nocturne en compagnie de plusieurs amies transgenres, un critique de cinéma nous fit la déclaration suivante : « Vous êtes vraiment les fascinantes créatures de la nuit ». Nous avons pris cela pour un compliment et je crois que cela en était un. Mais il y a aussi des nuits fascinantes qui appellent d’autres créations. Celles d’Halloween n’en sont pas moins troublantes. Si, comme nous, elles ont alors tendance à abuser du maquillage, c’est pour la bonne cause. Et lorsque la technique est maîtrisée, le résultat final confine au grand art.

After a late-night shoot with several transgender friends, a film critic said to us: “You really are the fascinating creatures of the night“. We took this as a compliment, and I think it was. But there are also fascinating nights that call for other creations. Halloween creatures are no less unsettling. If, like us, they tend to overdo the make-up, it’s for a good cause. And when the technique is mastered, the end result borders on the grandiose.
